I also have a toshiba, an l that I had a problem with scrolling using the synaptics touchpad with driver version 19 dated may 28 I tried several other versions from toshiba's driver site including a few that were for several other models not an l None of these worked.
I saw on a news group that others were having the same problem, they recommended a version. After several no synaptics devices found errors, and no notification that it completed, scrolling began to work.
Going to device manager it did show the driver as I don't know why this worked and can't recommend this method, but scrolling now works. Thank You Mike Although i appreciate Sara's suggestion, i tried and it did not help, unfortunately Yes, i have read that others have the same problem when they have gone from windows 7 to 10 in that their touchpad will not scroll with the compatible driver that windows installs When i tried my original touchpad driver for 7 from the toshiba site, it didn't get the scroll function back at all What amazes me is that i also run ubuntu linux and their open source driver that is installed works perfectly fine on my toshiba If anyone else has any suggestions or had the same problem and find a great solution By the way, this is not going to go well if lots of people with laptops who have windows 7 or 8 on them and then upgrade to 10 after the release, only to find that they can't scroll on their touchpads because the windows touchpad driver doesn't have full functioning like their original driver did assuming that the original manufacturer's driver doesn't fully work in Furthermore, once in programs such as Photoshop, scrolling from the touchpad does not work either.
