What about printing through a network? Why is it that MS cannot simply provide the driver so WE, the user can control how this is done. I have a Canon i connected to a computer running Windows XP with a parallel connection.

I want to print from my new laptop which is connected through a wireless network and runs windows 7. Now I know I should remove windows 7 from my new laptop and install windows XP but I cannot install additional drivers on my XP machine because is does not recognize windows 7.

So exactly why does microsoft refuse to simply allow me to have access to actual driver so I can install it myself. I can install the printer locally but microsoft makes it impossible to locate the driver that is somewhere on my laptop. And MS wonders why people hate to upgrade to the latest version.
