I tried from different computers than mine and had no luck. Even if I change the ip address of the site binding to I have been restarting the FTP site after making changes to its configuration with no luck. It seems like I have things configured on the server side correctly in terms of firewall.
I am hoping I have made a mistake in the site settings that someone can easily see. I keep seeing A connection with the server could not be established.
The more I see it the more frustrated I am getting. Please help. I have spent way too long on this. I added this machine to the domain at my main site and took to a remote site that has no servers which I do for every machine at the remote site. The network path was not found. I have double-checked the share permissions so that the Everyone group has full access as well as the security settings for this directory.
I don't understand why some people can access that location while others cannot. For the users who cannot access the share, if I login to their machine as domain administrator and try to access the share, I get prompted for credentials with a message about the system detected a possible attempt to compromise security. Once I put in the domain admin credentials, I can access the share while logged in as domain admin only. Can someone shed some light as to why this might be happenning?
Are you sure you don't have other firewall software running? Have you tried enabling logging for Windows Firewall, and checking the logs for dropped connection attempts?
Or how about temporarily disabling Windows Firewall altogether along with any other firewall software , just for testing? Did you enable the firewall exception in the standard Windows Firewall interface or in Windows Firewall with Advanced Security?
