How to lan two computers windows 7
I just linked my 2 computers using your tutorial at my pawn shop. This is awesome stuff. Thanks for your help. But here I can share only the public folder only.
But no problem, it works for me. Thanks again. I am all set but in network folder i can see the other PC and as soon as I try to open it asks for username and password and viseversa. I know there are many different linux distros out there, making one all inclusive guide difficult to write, but if one was written for a popular distro, such as Ubuntu, it would benefit a large in linux terms user group.

I would start all over and set up the network as that probably is simpler to do than troubleshooting.
I am trying to figure this problem out. Here is my set up. My lap top is running windows 7 HP hooked to the internet through a wireless connection. I have DSL, Modem is hooked to a router, router is wired to my room mates computer and i am running off the wireless part. I am trying to net work my two computers together using a cross over cable or a ethernet switch. Homegroup is not an option here. When I do both ways my lap top will see my desktop when I click on network but my desktop will not see my lap top.
When I go from my laptop clicking on network and then clicking on my desktops icon it will say Enter Network Password, I put in all my passwords but nothing happens. Truth is I don't know what the password is, I never set one up. This is suppose to be easy to set up according to windows 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
